How did it all come about?
I was born in the Allgäu, a beautiful swathe of land in the south of Germany. As a fourteen year old, my brother dragged me to a concert by the pianist, Memphis Slim, and then it happened: the high octane Boogie numbers, with their Blue Notes drenched in melancholy, blew my socks off and sparked a fire deep within me, which still burns today... that was my voyage of discovery.
Straight away I began teaching myself the most important fundamentals of Jazz and Blues, and later I rocked every pub that had a piano.
After a trip to the Mecca of Jazz, New Orleans, it was time: in 1999, my first solo album, “Boogie Woogie Contours”, was released. Other solo and co-productions followed.
Today, as a professional pianist and full-blooded musician, I play both as a solo artist and in a band, at national and international concerts, festivals and events. Boogie Woogie, Blues, Jazz and occasional outings into Rock'n Roll and Pop are on the bill. Let yourself be swept along by the fascination of improvisation!
