Dave Taylor, as far as I am concerned, is a synonym for Rock'n'Roll at its best, purist and most flourishing form. Ever since our first meeting at Midem, Cannes, in 1986, I noted that Dave often referred to the same names and professional phrases which I myself like to use when talking about music.

This professionalism can clearly be heard in Dave's recordings. It also transpired that we were both Big Band fans. This CD contains that same, powerful Rock'n'Roll and Rhythm'n'Blues with which Dave has captivated the audiences of the Imatra Big Band Festival since 1988. The Finnish public, who only associated Rock'n'Roll with guitars, were amazed when Dave Taylor brought a real Swinging and Rocking Mini Big Band to Imatra.

To this day, there are still stories told about Dave's performances (playing the piano upside down or performing unnerving acrobatics during his stage shows; his unique entrance to the venue by parachute and his inimitable Boogie Woogie playing technique - yet, never compromising the quality of the music). On this CD, which is the first in the Good Time compilation series of Dave's recordings, we can also enjoy some of his romantic ballads and, above all, Dave's overwhelming piano playing, which never fails to impress.
