Photo: from Mr Arthur Ashton who lived in Valley View road Combs Ford. Mr Ashton was a councilor for many years on the Stowmarket Urban District Council. He served as Chairman for one year which was the equivalent of the Town Mayor. He was also a County Councilor and served as a Magistrate at Stowmarket for 30 years.
